McCannon
Coal Program Supervisor
Department of Natural Resources
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Ms. McCannon,
DEC 0 5 1996
QIYISiCn o~ iwucia5 J 1ie01Cr~Y
On November 8, 1996 I wrote a follow up letter to an October 8,
1996 citizens complaint about the Sanborn Creek Mine and an
October 16, 1996 letter. It has been nearly one month and I have
yet to receive a response.
The letter asked two specific questions and I would appreciate a
prompt reply. The inspection that resulted from my citizens
complaint stated that the mine entrance did not have a posted
blasting warning sign. My question remains - is not having a
blasting warning sign posted at a mine entrance a violation of
SMCRA and, if it is, why was this not cited.
You indicated that if 2 was not satisfied with the results of my
citizens complaint I am entitled to either an informal or formal
review. i asked for information about initiating this process
and I await your response.
Thanks in advance for your efforts.
Sincerely,
~.GVww c~ y
Dennis Short
