Also included is a summary of the discussion with Norm
Every on November 5, 1997 regarding current work activities. The test well
program will be formally documented in a report upon completion.
Findings
The following findings are mostly relevant to cross section A-A from Figure 1 in
the Interim Report because of the need to understand a single cross section before
the entire landslide is interpreted. Most of the findings are based upon the recent
information from Golder Associates Faz dated 27 October, 1997 to Norm Every,
the information from the current test well program and the information from the
Interim Report (Barr, September, 1997)
1. The inclinometers I-6 and I-7 indicate a shear plane at about mid distance
between the ground surface and the cobble layer below the colluvium.
(Approximately 40 to 50 feet below the ground surface).
2. The shallow piezometers: B-8, B-9, B-10 and B-11 near the substation;
N-1S, N-2S, and N-3S near the fresh water pond; and B-2, B-3, B-4 and B-5
neaz the MBl pond indicate a shallow (and possible perched) groundwater
condition (within about 10 feet from the surface).
