L.P., (C-81-079)
Proposed Baseline Soils and Vegetation Protocol for the South Taylor Area
Dear Mr. Walker:
In preparation for a potential Permit Revision application, Colowyo will be initiating additional
soils and vegetation baseline inventories this summer for the South Taylor Expansion Area. The
area is located immediately south of the present Section 16 Pit Area.
The purpose of the studies will be to supplement the existing information database on these two
environmental resources so as insure that adequate data is available to satisfy CDMG Rules
2.04.9 and 2.04.10.
Attached, please find a Study Plan including maps for the soils and vegetation inventory project.
We request that the Division review the material and provide us with any comments or
suggestions you may have regarding the sampling protocols. As the studies will initiate in the
late June we request that the Division respond as soon as possible.
Colowyo looks forward to working closely with the Division on the South Taylor project. Please
contact if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
xc: S. Hinkemeyer
K. Wolf
J. Koblitr, Greystone
files.
J mes A. Kiger
