Lang <br />Nucla, CO 81424 Division Director <br />RE: New Horizon Mine, C-81-008, 1999 & 2000 Sediment Pond Inspection Reports and CDPH&E Permit <br />CO-85-00213 Discharge Monitoring Reports <br />Dear Mr. Gubka: <br />The Division has received and reviewed New Horizon's sediment pond inspection reports and the Dept. of <br />Health's NPDES discharge reports for the period covering 2nd quarter 1999 through 4`h quarter 2000. The <br />NPDES reports have been prepared in compliance with Rule 4.05.13(2)(a)(iii). No values exceeded [he permit <br />limitations and no problems were noted with this report. Ponds 1 and 7 have consistently passed the WET tests. <br />Pond 8 has discharged once but has been mined through and is currently under constntction. Sediment pond <br />reports find that all ponds Ire functioning as designed and as normal. Ponds I and 7 continue to discharge ort a <br />regular basis. <br />The Division requests that on your sediment pond inspection report that you add item 20 "Discharge Rate".
