Liddle:
Our vegetation consultant, Mr. Don Hyder, and I have reviewed the
species diversity stipulation proposed by Mike Savage and wish to com-
ment as follov+s:
Stipulation 11:
Coors Energy Company's proposed method for measuring species di-
versity is contained on pages 81-84 of our Application document, Vol-
ume I. 41e propose a sixteen square foot plot size for measuring species
diversity and derive a success standard of 4.3 perennial herbaceous
species per plot. We have not addressed the distribution of specific
vegetation types within each sampling area.
t4ike Savage, in a memo to Rob Liddle, dated April 14, 1982, es-
tablishes a vegetation list of eleven species to use in evaluating
species diversity. The table is adapted from Table 2.04.10(4) on page
82 in our Application. Coors Energy Company accepts that eleven species
list and the appropriately revised tabulated calculations. The last
column, however, is understood to he CHANGE IN REL FQ.
As a standard for measuring species diversity, Coors Energy Company
agrees to your first stipulation sentence that establishes a minimum of
seven perennial species consisting of four warm-season grasses, two-cool
season grasses, and one forb.
