BOt a69 <br />FORT COLLIN S, C0 80522 <br />Re: Federal Coal Lease Adjacent to Grassy Gap Permit Area <br />File No. C 81039 <br />Dear Mr. Deckler: <br />Your letter of May 23, 1986, directed to Mr. Sherman has been <br />received. <br />The Rockcastle Company does not have any federal coal leases <br />with the Grassy Gap Mine. <br />I am contacting the partners in the Grassy Gap Joint Venture <br />whose leases are the lease rights upon which the mining operation <br />is conducted to determine whether they have any leases within the <br />scope of your letter. <br />I seem to recall there was a federal lease put up for bid <br />some years ago (probably 1982 or 1983) upon which the Rockcastle <br />Company and/or the Grassy Gap Joint Venture made a bid. That bid <br />was not deemed successful and the leasehold rights were awarded to <br />someone from Atlanta, Georgia. <br /> <br />
