III IIIIIIIIIIIII III
999

EASTSIDE COAL COMPANY, INC.
I?O. Boz 161
Silt, Colorado 81652
(3Q3) 8762944
March 1, 1991
Dan T. Matthews, Reclamatiun Specialist
Mined Land Reclamatiun Division
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Mr. Matthews:
RECEIVED
MAR 0 4 1991
Mined Land
Reclamation Division
Results from the inquiries to the Farmers Irrigation Ditch Company
shareholders have been received. To our knowledge no households use
the irrigation water as a source of drinking water. Approximately 25
households downstream use the irrigation water for domestic purposes.
All of these households are located over a mile downstream of the
Eastside Mine.
The discussion of the probable water quality impacts of the Eastside P1ine
is located un pages 63 and 64 of the approved permit. The modeling results
show there is nu probable impact in the Harvey Gap Drainage. Five years
of water quality data shows the Eastside Kline has nut affected the water
quality ur quantity of the Farmers Irrigation Ditch Company.
Sincerely,
.~~~~
Stephen Self
General Manager
SS/11
