Banta lorado Mined Land Reclamation Division <br />RE: Coal Lease Application - C-44693 Western Fuels - Utah Inc. <br />DEA and MER report <br />archaeological resources. <br />Based on the Division staff's review of the Draft Environmental Assessment and <br />the Maximum Economic Recovery report their were no concerns identified that <br />would render the area unsuitable for leasing or permitting. In past leasing <br />and permitting actions the BLM has raised concerns in the areas of subsidence <br />in Red Wash harm to potential Hackfooted ferret habitat, and harm to <br />The State and BLM have reouired Western - Fuels Utah Inc. to undertake <br />mitigation measures which have been sufficient to meet all statutory <br />requirements.
