At the time of the sampling (July-August, 1983)
revegetation was successful in terms of exceeding baseline values for
herbaceous cover and production at both sites. Moody plants at both sites
were to evidence, but not at levels approximating pre-mining. Both sites were
initially seeded in 1979 with additional yearly seeding occurring on areas of
low cover.
Salt Creek Mining has requested that revegetation monitoring be suspended
until further disturbance occurs. Based on correspondence between yourself
and me, the revegetation undertaken at the sites to date has been temporary 1n
nature, and will be modified at such time that the sites are permanently
reclaimed. I feel that the Division can suspend the requirement for further
revegetation monitoring at these sites until such time as permanent or final
revegetation occurs at any given area of either site.
/ph
Doc.
