Dept. of Natural Resource° <br />Dear Mr. Zalkind: <br />In compliance with your letter dated 1 February, 1983 to Zemlock <br />and Son, Inc „ we submit the following responses to your questions <br />numbers one through eight. <br />1) All development work to open this operation were accomplished <br />in the previous year. The total area affected contains 21.3 acres. <br />2) All of the affected area is still actively being used and/or <br />mined, therefor, none has been reclaimed. <br />3) See note 2) above. <br />4) The topsoil storage area was seeded in March 1983 for stabilization <br />purposes. The following seed mixture was applied at a rate of <br />20 pounds per acre. <br />Grain Rve 18% <br />Kentucky Blue Grass 18% <br />Perennial Rye Grass 18% <br />Smooth Brome Grass 18% <br />Orchard Grass 18% <br />Alsike Clover 10°0 <br />5) The soil being stabilized is of good quality and it was <br />not deemed necessary to use fertilizer or soil conditioners. <br />6) No area reclaimed, see 2) above. <br />7) It is estimated that an additional 5 to 6 acres may be affected <br />during the coming year, depending upon business conditions.
