The Savage trailers are loaded so
the coal is below the top of the trailer which should eliminate or minimize fugitive dust.
However, we have decided to take an aggressive approach to this concem even though the
Savage trucks may not be contributing to the problem. Savage has agreed to install tarps on then
trailers. These have been ordered and should be delivered by the first of July. Savage will begin
installation at that time and should have all the trailers equipped with tarps by the third week of
July.
A second potential source of fugitive dust is the minor amount of material which is tracked back
onto the highway. This is a result of keeping the work area around the truck dump moist. It does
appear to have a dazkening effect on the pavement but does not cause significant dust. We have
decided to eliminate the coal stockpile near the truck dump. Hopefully, if we get out scheduled
number of trains, this will be accomplished by the end of June. This will eliminate the source of
material that is being tracked onto the highway. Savage has started a clean up of State Highway
133 with a street sweeper and vacuum. This should remove whatever dust is still laying on the
highway.
