Lease C-127834, CMLRD File C-84-064
Gear Gentlemen:
Thank you for the very productive meeting last Monday, April 4th. We
consider both the opportunity to tell you of the changes in American Shield
Coal Company and your candid discussion of the Company's future development
plans to be invaluable. In particular, the discussion and information you
provided regarding the status of the Company's underground development
permit and reclamation plan, }he exploration drilling program bonds, and
the three mine permit applications, have helped to channel our efforts in
clearing up past business and in formulating new long range planning
recommendations.
Greg Fernette continues to investigate the potential for surface minable
coal and access 4o underground coal reserves on the eastern lease area. He
will probably give you a progress report on his findings next week. I am
still in the process of trying to loca4e and review the great volumes of
correspondence between CMLRD and ASCC and its predecessor companies,
Dorchester Coal and Damson Oil. I have been only partly successful in
locating the permit documents and correspondence and will undoubtedly be
calling you in the near future for some more help with these matters.
Again, thank you for all your assistance.
Sincerely,
i /
~Yllc ~~(~~?~
//~/ lami Paul Fernette
cc: ASCC Dallas American Shield Coal Company
