Dept. of Natural Resources <br />Mine No. C-038-81/Stipulation No. 3 - Subsidence <br />In regards to Stipulation No. 3 and the subsidence monitoring at the Or- <br />chard Valley Mine, Paonia, Colorado, I am sending this letter to outline what <br />CWI proposes to do. All monuments (as noted on the attached schedule and <br />map) at the Orchard Valley Mine will be monitored in the spring of 1982 as <br />soon as weather permits, probably March or April. They will then be <br />monitored on a quarterly basis thereafter until winter; then as weather <br />permits, monitoring will be again picked up. This schedule depicts 1982 - <br />1983, however, the monuments will be monitored as long as necessary until the <br />Division and CWI mutually agree that monitoring is no longer necessary due to <br />lack of movement. <br />Mined Land Reclamation Division will be notified prior to commencement <br />of mining under 8ESN. Colorado Westmoreland Inc. will submit reports of its <br />subsidence monitoring program on a semiannual basis after initiation of anni- <br />toring.
