Stein and feel compelled to make my comments.
There are several things I find to be mis-represented and
somewhat derogatory in nature.
First, I recall my conversation with Mrs. Stein and feel
that my comment was taken out of context, since I did explain
to her the purpose and operation of the mine fan. The quote
fails to reference that statement.
Secondly, I know of no trespassing, torn down fences or
disrupted irrigation ditches by any employee of the Grand
Mesa Coal operation. I was not aware of the Stein residence
location untill I started to investigate their alleged
complaints.
Third, I have taken the liberty to visit neighboring
properties which border the mine property and have not been
confronted with a single complaint. The fan "ROAR" was faintly
audible at the Stein residence and only when the engine on our
car was shut off and we listened attentively.
In conclusion I feel the complaints of the Steins to be
without substance. Further it is the obligation of the Grand
Mesa Coal Company to operate in harmony with its surrounding
neighbors. To impose a stipulation on a mine operation on a
single letter and without investigation would be inexcusable.
We therefor, ask that you investigate this further prior to
making stipulations on us as an opertor.
Sincerely yours,
~'/~-~
Paul E.
