B.C.S. HOME IMSPECTIONS
E MAIN S7
Pre-Blast Survey Request, rnmxOn~•co~oAncve+oaz
Lorencito Canyon Mine, `I ~+s:
Gilbert & Theresa Duran r(`•~~VED ~T~ses,sz3+
20740 Byway 12, Primero, Co. 8101• Fax;719-845-0421
Home: 719-846-0461
~~~~ ~~ ~ 04/29/02
,,9 Geuloa'I
,. at Mine+9.• • •
1 ,~~w
This property is to the north and east of the Coal Mine, on the
south side of Highway 12, approximately 21 miles from Trinidad,
Co.
This home is over 50 years old, and the exterior is built from
adobe and stone, with stucco coating on the upper part of the
house except for the back walk-out portion which is all stucco.
The interior walls are covered with texture and painted. The
Floors are covered with carpet in the main living areas with
vinyl covering in the bath and kitchen areg8,
There are cracks in the kitchen doorway above the threshold on
the right side, this area is a small crack and may be normal for
the age of the house.
The basement on the south side entry has several areas where the
texture has popped out, and cracking is evident as well. The en-
try way has the same thing only about a foot fron the floor. This
appears to have moisture behind the bubble like hole.
The exteroir walls have several cracks in them, one on the west
side goes from the foundation to the living room window center.
There is another crack above the bathroom window on the south
side on the house which is normal for the age of the house.
The east side of the house, exterior wall, has severs) cracks
along the mortor that is between the rock, it also seems to have
loosened the mortor enough to break it off.
The owners have stated that the• last 2 months have been the
most noticed time of the mortor coming down on the east side of
the house.
The other complaint is the dust, (black) that reaches the house
when a easterly wind is promadent, from the railroad cars being
loaded with coal.
The owner also states that she has been coughing constantly and
more severe in the last month and accounts this from all the dust
that comes in from the blasting and the railroad cars being load-
ed during the day.
The house itself is structurally sound and has not been compro-
mised by the blasting. The foundation is healthy and so is the
main structure, although it does shake from the blasting, it
seems to be capable of withstanding that type of energy.
The home is hooked up to city water and does not have a well.
Pq. 1 of 2
