Dpi. of Natural Ftyources <br />I am writing you regarding Department. of the Army Permit <br />Application Number 9119. The proponent, Animas Aggregates <br />Incorporated, proposes to construct and repair dikes within the <br />Animas River Channel, 12 miles north of Durango, in La Plata <br />County, Colorado. I am enclosing a copy of Public Notice Number <br />9119 for your review. <br />The Colorado Division of Wildlife has expressed concerns <br />regarding implementation of the proposal and its impact. The <br />Corps of Engineers is required, under Section 404 of th= Clean <br />Water Art, to entertain comments and concerns of State -esource <br />agencies in deciding whether to issue or deny a permit. There- <br />fore, in order to adequately ascertain if this proposal is in the <br />public interest, the Corps of Engineers is requesting a copy of <br />Mined Land Reclamation prs~lt ri~llnber 76020 and all previous and <br />current proposals for permit. modification. In addition, please <br />furnish us with a copy of the long-term excavation plan for <br />Permit Number 76020 and a current copy of your Rules anti <br />Regulations. <br />Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
