RE: Comparison of Soil Sample Data, Seneca II
I recently compared the MLRD soil sample data with the Peabody soil sample
data for the Seneca II mine. There appears to be four areas that are
questionable. It should be noted that where Peabody shows more than 12 inches
of soil MLRD shows less than 12 inches. Also, where Peabody shows less than
12", MLRD shows more than 12".
The areas listed below are outlined uoon each map exactly the same wa.y. Blue
highlighter designates MLRD less than 12" of soil and Peabody more than 12" of
soil, and yellow highlighter designates MLRD more than 12" of soil and Peabody
less than 12" of soil. The maps used for this sampling are labelled
1) Exhibit 12-1, Operations Plan, March 24, 1988, and 2) Exhibit 3,
Chronological Topsoil Replacement Map, October 21, 1988. The.v both are
contained in the Seneca II file.
