(~,~, C~1l. C~. - Pte, C~.~.~--
999
. U 1./~
To Governor Roy Romer
From The Citizens Of Somerset Colorado ~-,~~
_ _.. ._.. ' _.~ ._.Ci,
we're not the kind of people that do much complaining or get
involved in politics. We're hard working folks and we only ask for
a fair shake. We're asking you Mr. Governor to help us stop the
Bear Coal Company from polluting our beautiful community with black
coal dust.
Many of us worked at Bear Coal and are now retired. Some of
us have black lung disease from the coal dust we inhaled while
working in the mines. But, because oP Bear's sloppy practice of
dumping and hauling its coal on highway 133 we're still breathing
coal dust in our homes, town, and our kids who ride the school bus
are inhaling coal dust into their lungs everyday.
sae can't even open our windows in our homes on a hot summer
day there's so much coal dust. our highway is blackened because of
the coal dust and when it rains black water drips from our roofs.
This threatens the health especially us retirees and it's a real
eye sore for tourists who drive through our beautiful valley.
Governor Romer, please do ali you can to get Bear Coal to
straighten out this serious health threat.
NAME
1)~
2)~
3'~ 1~
4>~
5, J
6)
7,~
8) J
9)~
ADDRESS

i
y

cc: to people listed on the attached sheet.
1
v
