Findings of the Division of Minerals and Geology <br />Methane Assessment, Golden Eagle Mine <br />June 2003 <br />Kent Gorham <br />Dwision of Minerals and Geology <br />In October 1996, the Division of Minerals and Geology received a written complaint from the Spanish <br />Peaks/Purgatoue River Sod Conservation Distnct in Las Animas County about an area of stressed and dead <br />vegetaUOn located along Highway 12 in Section 26 T33S, R67W dust east of the Golden Eagle mine. This falls <br />under a Cdizen Complaint as per the Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal <br />Mining, Rule 5.02.5. This cdizen's complaint was dated October 2, 1996. received Oct. 7 1996 by DMG <br />Another letter was received from the landowner, Mr. John Toupal, dated January 15, 1999, received by DMG on <br />January 19, 1999.
