You noted that there teas
no sign pasted and that boundaries had not been marked. Enclosed are some photographs showing the sign and
some phonographs of the boundary markers l placed on June 5, 2001. The affected land boundary markers will
be replaced by operation personnel with fence posts prior [o June 8, 2001. As for why the sign was not posted
when you did your inspection, the pit foreman explained [o me that the cattle had rubbed so hard and so long on
the sign the top mounting hole had expanded to the point where the bolt head c.~tnte out of the expanded hole and
the sign ttas flappmg in the wind. He had taken it dottn tehen you did your inspection to repair the sign and it
was put back up shorth~ after your inspection. Perhaps you can see the slot for the top mounting bolt that is
now in the sign. By using a slot rather than a hole; the hole expansion problem can be reduced thereby avoldiug
the need to repair or replace the sign as frequently. The cattle that graze this land tend [o frequently damage
signs and post markers that are installed for various reasons and some must be replaced frequently because of
the cattle.
Hopefillly, these photos will shore that there is now compliance with the problems noted in your inspection
report. If you have any questions, please call.
Sincerely;
~~~~,~~-
Mark A. Heffner
