Trucks hauling dirt as well as gravel have passed by us in droves. It appears that no agency in the Greeley area is monitoring any of these goings- on. We have been told the man in charge of the current mining is Ron Richardson, and is teasing fhe pit from Lobff, but have received no information as to whom, if anyone, has the proper permits for this excavation. Worse yet. is the total disregard for people Irving in the area in terms of dust control, and quite often, six days a week, the dust on the gravel road leading into the gravel pd is so intense that we cannot even see our chicken house fifty feet away a5 our residence and office adjoin the Lobff property to the south end of the pit. The previous miners, Aggregate lndustrfes {Camas) were kind enough to water down the road numerous times each day, and other dirt movers in the area frequently hire one of several water haubrs in the area to water the road, This is a huge help as 1 have third stage emphysema, my wife is not much better, and my 86 year dd mother lives in the apartment connected b our home and office. We are not the only family greatly affected by this lack of consideration, as there are four residences and another business along this gravel road, twa very small children that live next door to us, other adulfs in their sixties and seventies and numerous visiting grand ritildren present at any given time. - Attempts to communicate with fhe present mining operator's to get some relief from this dust situation result in a °pass the buck°, no one here can help you, sorty for your inconvenience, but we are going to keep doing as we please, because after alt rt casts money to water down your road, etc., etc. Previous attempts to get the Health department or the Environmental Protection Agency involved have been fruitless and both those agencies suggested that your agency would be the one to help us with this life-threatening problem. I am also fa~ong a map of the pit area. Please, our entire neighborhood needs your help!
