Arnold: <br />After a status report given to the Mined Land Reclamation Board on October 28, <br />1981, the Boazd moved that since Gunnison County is not operatiny in the S <br />pits, that the paperwork be dispensed with, and that the staff monitor <br />Gunnison County pits closely to insure that reclamation is being done. <br />Enclosed you will find a summary of the field inspection reports, done when <br />the 5 pits were inspected on October 22, 1981. This is self-explanatory. <br />1. Sullivan Pit - File No. 78-240 <br />a. 4 miles west of Gunnison, Colorado <br />b. 2:1 slopes <br />c. Very little vegetation surrounding area and area has revegetated itself. <br />d. Pit is reclaimed. Recommend release. <br />n <br />2. Redden Pit - File No. 79-66 <br />a. 4 miles north of Gunnison, Colorado <br />b. Stockpiles need to be taken off. <br />c. Needs to be fine yraded. <br />d. Where yraded, 3:1 slopes. <br />e. Topsoil spread over area where available. <br />f. Has not revegetated itself. <br />g. Have built drainage ditch on south side of area. <br />h. Pit is not reclaimed. Recommend we do not release pit for reclamation. <br />
