BOX 97 Division Director
Telluride, CO 81435 ~ Natural Resource trustee
:~
Re: Idarado Mine, Permit M-1977-403-HR, Proposed Water Treatment Plant Site not within Permit Boundary.
Dear Mr. Lyle,
I have reviewed your letter dated May 2, 2006, and the accompanying map, which describes a planned donation of
land by Idazado Mining Company to the Town of Telluride to be developed as a Water Treatment Plant. The
topographic map delineates the plant site as well as access the road location and possible pipeline alignment.
Your letter requests this office to state whether the proposed plant site is "encumbered" by any commitments to the
existing reclamation permit, number M-1977-403-HR, or whether any portions of the plant site lie within the permit
boundary.
I have reviewed the reclamation permit documents and can inform you that (1) all lands to be included in the
donaticn to the Town of Telluride, as described in your letter and map, lie outside of the boundary of reclamation
permit number M-1977-403-HR, and (2) there are no encumbrances or outstanding commitments related to said
permit, or otherwise between Idarado and the Division of Minerals and Geology on the parcel of land in question.
This office is not awaze of any permit-related mining disturbances outside the permit boundary.
I hope this letter answers your questions adequately. If you need further information, you may reach me at the
Division's Durango field office: 701 Camino del Rio, Room 125, Durango, CO 81301; telephone 970-247-5193.
Sincerely,
~o~
Bob Oswald
Environmental Protection Specialist
Ec: Bruce Humphries, DMG
C:\idarado bdry wtp/rco
Office of Office of Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines Geoloeical Survev
