J.
With this letter Energy Fuels Coal, Inc. (EFCI) is submitting information fulfilling the requirements of
Stipulatioo No. 15 of the approved permit application.
Stipulation No. 15 requires EFCI to obtain at least one grab sample from Second Alkali Creek when
strearoflow is present. This sample shall be submitted for lab analysis for total dissolved solids, total
suspended solids, pH, and total dissolved iron and manganese. Results of these analyses shall be submitted
to the Division.
Until July of this year, EFCI has been unable to collect a sample from Second Alkali Creek due to the
intermittent, short duration presence of surface flows, and difficulty of accessing the monitoring location. A
sample was obtained on 7/20/93 following a moderate precipitation event. Results of the lab analysis are
listed below.
Parameters SECOND ALKALI CREEK
pH (lab) 7.9 units
Solids, total dissolved 108 mg/I
Solids, total suspended 874 mg/I
Iron, dissolved 0.17 mg/I
Manganese, dissolved -0.Ul mg/I
EFMC will continue to monitor Secood Alkali Creek on a quarterly basis as described in the permit
application.
