SNELTON, Director
March 10, 1987
Mr. John Eilts
Mystic Trail U.S.
Steamboat Springs,
40
Colorado 80487
Re: Well Transfer, Meadows No. 1 Mine, File No. c-81-029
At the toe of the embankment of the lower sediment pond for the Meadows pit
area, there is a drill hole which is discharging water. Rule 4.07.3 of the
CMLRB Rules and Regulations requires that tfiis hole be permanently sealed.
However, Sun Coal has informed us that you wish to retain this water source
for your ranching operations. In order to allow for this, you must obtain a
well permit for the drill hole. If you do not file for these rights with the
State Water Resources Division by July 1, 1987, the Division will assume that
you are not interested in these rights, and will require Sun Coal to seal the
hole. If you are unable to file by July 1, 1987 but still have the intention
to file, please let us know.
Also, you will be interested to know that the Division has required Sun Coal
to remove rocks from the airfield and reseed the area during this field season.
Sincerely,
~~ ~`
Jeffrey H, Deckler
Reclamation Specialist
JHD/vj r
cc: Bryan Archer
8000E
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203-2273 Tel.
