GUNNISON NO. 1 MINE <br />~ iii iiiiiiiuiiiiiii <br />October, 1979 <br />Revised January 30, 1981 <br />Revised October 29, 1981 <br />ARCO Coal Company will reclaim all areas within the riparian buffer zone which <br />are disturbed as a result of its activities. The reclamation methods described in <br />Section 4.5.2. will be used to revegetate disturbances within the riparian buffer <br />zone with the following exceptions: <br />The species used in the riparian vegetation community revegetation effort <br />are noted below and are based on a survey of species present within the <br />riparian vegetation community (see Table 4.5.6.1.). <br />Grass and Forb Species Pounds/acre PLS <br />Western Wheatgrass 4 <br />Kentucky Bluegrass L/2 <br />Slender Wheatgrass 2 <br />Streambank Wheatgrass 3 <br />Alsike Clover 1/2 <br />Cicer Milkvetch 1 <br />11 <br />Shrub Species Stems/Acre <br />Streambank Willow 250 <br />Narrowleaf Cottonwood 200 <br />River Dirch 250 <br />Hawthorn 50 <br />Wood's Rose 250 <br />L000 <br />Grass and fortis species will be hand broadcast at twice the above rate and <br />shrubs and trees will be hand planted from container or cutting stock. <br />Success of this revegetation effort will be measured against the Wildlife Shrub <br />Cluster success criteria noted in Table 4.6.1.A. using the same sampling methods <br />noted in Section 2.3.5. <br />4-24a <br />
