The land in question is public land. The property has been held under mining claims for many years, formerly by Mr. Bill Lamberq. Mr. Wediqe acquired ownership of the claims several years aqo after the death of Bill Lamberq. I am enclosing a copy of the Master Title Plat covering the area. Public land in Section 18 has been colored yellow. Wedige's workings lie approximately within the red circle. The 40-acre tract of private land in the south-center of Sec. 18 contains the old stone quarry which I am sure you noticed from Wedige's property. Bob Wediqe has been very cooperative with us in doing reclamation. This past summer he did some recontouring at our request. When our inspector was last there in September 1993, he did not notice the material in the wash which you commented on in your inspection report, or we would have ttad him move it at that time.
