The proposed Terror Creek 2D Seismic Project area is approximately 7 miles
^orth of Paonia, CO in portions of T. 12 S., R. 91 W., Sections 32 and 33; and T. 13 S., R. 91
W., Sections 4, 5, 6.7, 8, 17; all of which are in Delta Comity, CO (see attached map). The
proposed exploration area includes BLM, Forest Service, and private lands. Portions of the
project occurring on private lands are not subject to BLM and USFS authorization.
The proposal inchides six separate seismic lines, totaling about 6 miles (1.4 on BLM, 1.6 on
National Forest, and 3 on private). On the federally-administered lands, the proposed
exploration would take place dmough drilling approximately 11 l shot holes (25' deep; 52 on
BLM, 59 ou National Forest lands) using a buggy mounted drill rig. Surface disturbance
associated with the project includes brush clewing and temporary road construction. About 0.3
acres of disturbance could occur on BLM administered land, 0.1 acres of disturbance on National
Forest lands. Approximately 1,000 feet of new temporary road will be constructed on federal
land (800 on BLM, 200 on USFS) as shown on the attached map.
After completion of the project, shot hole plugging will conform to State of Colorado
regulations. All new temporary roads and surface disturbw~ces associated with the project will
be obliterated and reclaimed.
The project is scheduled to take place in 2006, and if approved, would take approximately 30
days. The BLM and the GMUG are in the process of preparing an environmental analysis.
