Kamnikar
Division of Minerals&Geo109Y
Re: Responses to Letter Dated January 9, 1998
Dear Ms. Kamnikar:
This letter is in response to your letter dated January 9, 1998, and Harry Posey's letter to Carl
Mount dated January 6, 1998. I have organized this letter to respond to each of the individual
comments and concerns described in the letters. Items 1 and 2 below address concerns voiced by
you in correspondence. Items 3 through 8 address Mr. Posey's comments.
1) /t is unclear from the description of the samples tested whether the 'fined residue"is
obtainedfrom LOC-treated or untreated ore. This significantly affects the interpretation
of the test results, so a specific explanation of how the samples were obtained is necessary.
Samples were obtained from Research Development Inc. which is the company working 11P
on the processing of the ore. The samples obtained for testing included LOC-treated ore Bk { (er r
which has not been aged, LOC-treated ore which has been aged for six weeks, and leach
residue which is the waste material from the process. The leach residue is from ore which
has been treated with LOC and aged for a period of time. All samples obtained and tested
were treated with LOC.
2) Second, while DMG is not disagreeing with these test results at this time, we feel that
further explanation of all listed issues must be submitted prior to our office making any
comment on how adding the processes so far described will effect the existing permit or
reclamation bond. 6 r1
Knight Piesold will provide all the necessary information to DMG for approval to place APpy
the residue or tailings back into the pits. Included with this letter are responses to the
concerns and issues in your letter. The client's concern at this point is that the process
remain confidential until the patenting process is complete.
MEMBER OF
AMERICAN CONSULTING Knight Piesold
ENGINEERS COUNCIL GROUP
