I don't have Cheryl Linden's email address, so maybe you could forward this to her. As I indicated to you
yesterday, in order for PCC to undertake any significant reclamation work at Roadside, they would certainly need to rent
equipment or contract out entire projects. They are now down to one employee on site (Tonya Hammond), and Tonya
does not operate equipment. PCC owns a Cat DS Dozer and a 560 International Loader (which is currently not
operational). A Cat 980 loader and a roadgrader which PCC previously owned were sold to Public Service Company
(PSC), who uses the equipment at their Cameo Power Plant immediately adjacent to the mine property. Tonya Hammond
indicated that PCC is able to borrow the loader and roadgrader, along with a backoe from PSC as needed for occasional
ditch, culvert, and pond maintenance, and small scale reclamation work, etc. This was apparently negotiated as a part of
th2 sale of the equipment. For most of this work, they have been able to hire Jack Albright to operate the equipment on a
to porary basis. Jack was a long time surface maintenance foreman at the mine, who was laid off a couple months ago.
P Cis currently completing a smalV (+~_ 5 acre) reclamation project at their 2-West Portals and South Fan sites, which are
an illary facilities somewhat remote from the major disturbance areas at the mine. I believe they used their dozer and
P 's loader for this project, and they have rented a trackhoe to complete the final grading, which will be done next week.
Jack Albright will operate the trackhoe.
Reclamation of the refuse disposal areas and main portal facility areas would necessitate acquisition of additional
equipment and operators to complete the work in a timely fashion. Necessary equipment would likely include various
dozers, loaders, haul trucks, backhoe, trackhoe, and cranes.
Non-reclamation equipment and facilities still on-site includes the wash plant, office and shop structures, overland
conveyor structures, and coal handling, crushing, and loading facilities at the North and South Portals and the Unit Train
Loadout. I assume everything is for sale, and have been told that PCC is negotiating with Peabody Coal Company for sale
of the loadout facilities (which they would presumably dismantle and transport to Routt County). I'm sure that whatever
underground mining equipment PCC still has on hand is also for sale, but I don't know what their remaining inventory is.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need additional information
