Descriptions and sample results are included in this
response. Since the regulations do not pertain to outcrop
features, survey of rock outcrops will not be performed.
Olson Well
The piping diagram at the wellhead of the Olson Well is
sketched below. This well is a "flowing artesian" type
well.
. = gate valve
overflow to stock pond ~ e to house
faucet at
wellhead
well case
The wellhead and the gate valve bodies (not the wellhead
faucet) are cased with cement and are in good condition. No
cracking was observed. The piping is in a shallow (one to
two feet) pit, lined with cement blocks. Insulation and
boards are placed on top of the pit. The cement blocks were
in good condition and no cracking was observed. The
overflow to the stock pond valve is left open slightly
during the winter to prevent freezing.
Flow measurements are obtained by closing the gate valve to
the house and then opening the stock pond valve. After five
minutes have passed, a flow measurement is taken at the
black poly pipe at the stock tank. Flows measured were 19.3
gpm on September 13, 1989 and 19.5 gpm on November 1, 1989.
Also attached are laboratory analyses for September 30, 1985
and September 13, 1989 and a copy of the well completion.
The permit number for the well is 81CW122, filed November
