My correspondence to you, dated October 02, 1992, stated that "as built" and "as functioning"
drawings for the Yampa River and Explosives Storage sedimentation ponds should be submitted
to the Division in the form of a technical revision. After further review of the material, the
Division will simply require a minor revision to incorporate the drawings into the approved
permit application package.
The following information should be included on drawings that will replace or augment Maps
11A, 11B, and 14B:
1. The locations of the primary and secondary spillways should be shown on a full
drawing of each of the ponds.
2. At least one cross section of the secondary (emergency) spillway should be shown
for both ponds.
3. Slope measurements should be included for the inside and outside slopes of both
ponds.
4. Elevations should be included in the drawings so that the current configuration
of the ponds can be compared to the previously approved designs, and so that the
capacity of the ponds can be established. At a minimum, elevations at high
points on the embankments, at spillway outlets, and at the lowest point in the
pond should be provided.
