Long
Division Director
Re: Identification of the Double Wide Mobile Home on the Golden Eagle Mine's
Structural Inventory Map, C-81-013
Deaz Mrs. Tatum:
This letter is in response to your facsimile dated May 1, 1995 and July 18, 1995. Your facsimile was
in response to my letter dated April 21, 1995, addressing your letters of Mazch 14, 1995, and Mazch 27,
1995.
Response to paraeraph #1 of your Mav 1, 1995 letter:
During my Mazch 1, 1995 inspection, you stated that a double wide trailer was not identified on the
structural inventory map. In my April 21, 1995 letter responding to your concern, I identified this
structure as the light blue frame house (structure #12). This structure was originally a double wide
mobile home that had been added onto. In your May 1 facsimile, you stated that this was not the
structure you were referring to, but rather to "double wide trailer on the next piece of property that is
owned by Ernie Trujillo."
It is my understanding from your description that you aze referring to structure #67 that is about 300
feet east of the light blue house (structure #12). Structure #67 is identified on the map as a "wood
frame house," and was added to the structural inventory map in February of 1994. 1 spoke with Ralph
Lopez of Basin Resources regazding this. He said that the county assessor's office has identified this
structure as a mobile home and the mine has updated the structural inventory map fur the Golden Eagle
mine to reflect this. Basin Resources submitted a revised structural inventory map #16. On this map
the label for structure #67 has been changed from a wood frame house to a double-wide trailer. The
Division is currently reviewing this as a minor revision to the permit. A copy of this map has been sent
out for reproduction; a copy of this map and bill will be sent to your address.
Response to Daragraph #2 of your Mav 1, 1995 letter:
No one with DMG determined that it was not necessary for Basin to monitor for subsidence on your
property prior to mining in the First North main. Wyoming Fuels was required to commence
monitoring per Rule 2.05.6(6)(c). However, as the mine did not progress to within 30 days of
undermining the adobe structure on your property, subsidence monitoring of this structure did not
commence.
