[aq9-~
Dear Mr. Cooley:
We are in receipt of your letter dated March 27, 2002, regarding your proposal to modify
Part II Section C. 6. to allow the addition of approximately 300 ppm of lithium chloride to the
injection stream of six existing cavities. The lithium chloride will be added to the injection
stream over the course of one hour as a tracer test to determine the present residence time of
injected fluids in the cavern. The addition of this material will raise the lithium chloride
concentration of the injection liquor by 300 ppm. Orce the material is mixed in the cavity (with
a volume of approximately four million gallons), the lithium chloride concentration will be raised
in the cavity by 0.8 to 4ppm. American Soda plans to carry out tracer tests on six (6) cavities as
follows:
1. Well 28-21: C03858-04567
2. We1120-36: C03858-04562
3. We1120-31: C03858-04558
4.
