_,.
MINERS INC.
CONSTRUCTION SPECIALISTS
MINING and CIVIL PROJECTS
iii iiiiiiiiiiiii iii
sss
REGE!vF
November 18, 1993.
Division Of Minerals And Geology
Department Of Natwal Resources
1313 Sherman St. Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Attn: Ms. Erica S. Crosby
NOV 19 1993

Re: Hawk's Coal Silo Facility Reclamation Project Bid No. RN-COAL-MINES-9.
Dear Ms. Crosby:
Further to the two phone conversations that you have had with our Jim Eurich, we wish to expand
on the qualifications of the key personnel that we would assign to this project.
Don Weddell has had considerable experience in demohtion work using explosives and this has
included the falling of several reinforced concrete smoke stacks. During his twelve years with an
explosives manufacturer, he traveled world wide assisting users of explosives in the proper and
safe handling of the products and the correct and efficient use of a variety of explosives in a
multitude of different applications.
Fred Hurley and Don Todd each have a very strong mining background, both surface and
underground with emphasis on drilling and blasting.
Postlewait, Inc. would be our subcontractor for the removal of the conveyor structure. We have
used this firm before on the disassembly of a headGame for Magma Cooper and for the
disassembly, movement to a new location and erection of a headframe for United Nuclear.
The above team is very qualified to do the Hawk's Nest Silo Demolition work however, we would
be happy to commission a specialty blasting fum to supervise the drill and blast part of this project,
if that is to be a condition of award. We aze currently working with a firm in Wyoming who's
specialty is railroad construction and repair. They have offered to advise us on techniques to use
to protect the railroad and/or get it back into full service as quick as possible.
9137 E.
