Lou Hamm of the OSM Western Support Center, Harry Ranney of our
staff, and I will be teaching a course on "Engineering Principles for Program
Personnel" from August 31 - September 4, 1992 in Steamboat Springs. It is
customary to conduct afield trip on Thursday. We are looking forward to
visiting the Seneca II-W mine between the hours of 10:00 am and 3:30 pm on
Thursday, September 3rd. Our class will be composed of 31 non-engineers from
seven state programs and the OSM staff, plus we three instructors.
We will first stop at the Seneca II mine office to ensure that everyone
receives their safety indoctrination. We will obey any instructions your
staff delivers. It is our desire to examine the new haul road, the new pond,
and a convenient stockpile. The field exercise i5 intended to allow the
students to use basic field techniques to measure these structures. I will
supervise the group to keep them from interfering with your operations.
Thank you and Peabody again for your hospitality and cooperation!
Sincerely ours,
~ ~ _C
err ~14vWi V
•" Jame A.
