Maintenance activities
will consist of weed control work and possible irrigation of plants planted last summer.
More specifically, weed control will include installation over the next few weeks of the
remaining weed barrier material not deployed last summer and on-going herbicidal or
mechanical control of noxious weeds. At this time, no irrigation is planned but if
prolonged dry conditions occur such that high stress conditions are created for the
"replacement" plants (i.e. those planted in 1997), limited irrigation may be performed to
insure "replacement" plant survival.
It is our understanding that none of the planned work would cause an extension of or
re-trigger the current liability term associated with the shrub augmentation parcels. If
this understanding is incorrect, we would appreciate a written communication from the
Division to that effect as soon as possible. We intend to initiate weed control efforts
this week, weather permitting, beginning with placement of the remaining weed barrier
material.
Please call me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Michael R.
