This is on page
29 of my Decision Document dated December 13, 1994. I have discussed the topsoil volume
figures with John Nelson. The area where topsoil was not salvaged was 175 feet long x 200
feet wide x 2 feet deep. I incorrectly stated the width as 2 dozer widths. Based on John's
figures the volume of topsoil lost was 2593 cubic yards. The figure provided in the decision
document was 3226 cubic yards. Using the Division's estimate of $7.50/cubic yard, the
Division's cost to replace the topsoil is reduced from $24,195.00 to $19,447.50. The State
is entitled to $19,447.50. This figure does not include the cost to spread the material or the
cost to seed.
Thank-you for bringing this discrepancy to my attention.
S' cerely,
an,~~r~ ~*•rw~~
Division of Minerals and Geology
cc.
