If discharge approaches the 26.1 9pm esti-
mated, the pu;nps will likely be set up on a float switch to
discharge at least daily.
Mine water is primarily settled u:derground in a series of
sumps which would have an average retention time of two days
if we were to reach the 26.1 gpm discharge projected. The
highest'total suspended solids' measured in the last three
years leas been 52 mg/1, trhich equates to 0.0022 acre-feet/
year of sediment, if 100 settling occurred. The problem
with suspended solids occurred tvllen the mine water did not
go through any sump, but went directly outside.
A quarterly survey of th
of a calculation fro;n tl
to the sediment level at
sedim=nt deptfr .:ear the
of this calcu' .ton will
pond inspection.
e sedi;nent in tfre pond will consist
e measurement of the sediment deposited
the intake end of the pond and the
discharge end of the pone.
