We have been investigating many alternatives <br />to mitigate visual impact during the past year. The one <br />that looks the most promising is a process which actually <br />oxidizes the surface of the rock permanently; in effect <br />aging the rock. <br />The product is called Eonite. It is sprayed on in a <br />liquid form. The Tiquid evaporates leaving the product on <br />the rock. Oxidation occurs with exposure to Ultra Violet <br />light, and depending on weather conditions it will be <br />completed within 7 to 21 days. <br />Eonite has been used most extensively in Californi<,. <br />Here in Colorado, it has been used by the Colorado <br />Department of Highways in Glenwood Canyon, and on a road cut <br />leading to The Valley at Highlands Ranch. <br />The enclosed information was supplied by the regional <br />distributor and contractor, Jack Hazelhurst of L.R.K. Inc. <br />Environmental Landscape Contractors of Grand Junction, <br />Colorado According to the literature, the product has <br />been tested on plant and animal life with "no difference" <br />from the control groups.
