Colorado 80221
•
RECEIVED
JUL 1 3 2001
D'IVision of Minerals and Gealo~Y
Carl Mount
Colo Div. of Mines
Dear Sir:
I own tl~e JM Brown lode, NW1/4 Sec20
T2S R73W,in northwest Gilpin County. My father bought ol~l
claims for back taxes, and it was given to me in 1967. I was~~
unable to keep trespassers from taking materials from the o~d
2-story log building that was the office of the Elk Park Minis and
Milling Co. I gave up trying to improve.
I had not been there for a number of years. A couple of
weeks ago I went to the site, and was surprised to find a wo~kiny
mine adjacent to my property. I would like to know if this is
legitimate operation, and if they are staying within the bounds cif
their claim.
You can probably find them on site by calling the sheriff rl
303-582-1060. I called the sheriff, before my trip, to find out~if the
road was open, and was told that someone was worl<irry ir, t+rere.
No one was there on the saturday I visited.
Any assistance you can give me would be greatly
appreciated. Please use the attached unsigned letter as bads
for your inquiry.
Yours truly.
Frank Drape 303-433-5229
Encls.
~ /©-25-d1 ~ /. D.~Q
~ ~~~-
l~' ~~-~
