Q: The Surficial Geology Map (2.04.5-B) is basically just a topo map.
Is more detail needed for the General Area Map?
A: More information is definitely necessary. The applicant should add
bedrock information, such as strike and dip, faults and formation
members within the Mesa Verde (Coal beds, etc.).
2. Q: No cross-sections were included. Will the series of Overburden and
Isopachs Maps beginning with 2.04.6-A suffice?
A: The maps are informative, however, the applicant is still required
to prepare appropriate cross-sections to aid in interpretation of
the submittal geologic information. The applicant should prepare
at least two relatively perpendicularly oriented cross-sections
roughly bi-setting the permit axes, E-W and N-S.
