Response to Second Adequacy Review <br />Dear Christina: <br />We are in receipt of your letter of January 28, 2000 and Southdown herein commits to <br />the requested provisions contained in that letter with the following clarifications. <br />Southdown will perform the required monitoring for five consecutive quarters and <br />thereafter the monitoring shall be twice per year as was stipulated in the previous <br />submittal. Southdown requests that the Division also consider the many years of pH <br />measurements taken at the discharge point from A-Pit pursuant to their CDPS permit. <br />This will provide additional baseline data. <br />The Division will set numeric water quality standards for the monitoring and compliance <br />point and Southdown requests that these be grounded in adopted State standards. <br />Southdown would also like the Division to consider ambient water quality in its setting of <br />numeric standards. <br />Aftcr the numeric standards have bear. set any exceedances will be reported to the <br />Division immediately.
