(MCC), West Elk Mine; Permit No. C-80-007; Technical
Revision No. 99 (TR-99), Sylvester Gulch Road Expansion and Construction Plaas, Request far
Extension.
Deaz Mr. Kaldenbach:
Mountain Coal Company, L.L.C. is submitting this request for extension of approval for the
forementioned technical revision. The revision was to incorporate the designs and plans to improve
and construct the expansion of Sylvester Gulch Road on MCC private land and lands managed by the
United States Forest Service (USFS},
The request for extension of time to approve is necessary and prudent for the USFS to approve MCC's
responses to the Division's adequacy comments far TR-99, and to gain approval of the designs from
the USFS. The appeals process is ongoing and we anticipate approval soon.
Iv1CC is requesting atwo-month extension to address the appeals period mandated by the USFS.
Please notify me if you have questions regarding this extension request.
Sinc re y,
~ ~ i~~~
eery A arbe
Environmental Engineer
CC: P Schmidt
M Peacock
ComgTIt99SIyRoadextreg8.doc
