We have assured
~ Homestake that we will participate in reviewing any reclamation plans for work in Windy
Gulch. As such, the Willow Creek Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) was' asked to
participate in reviewing and commenting on Homestake's (now Barrick) Bulldog Mine
reclamation plan outlined in the document entitled "Bulldog Mine Reclamation Project,
Technical Revision 011, ClosureBeclamation Improvements at the 9700 and 9360 Waste
Rock Dumps", dated May 2002.
I understand that the Forest Service needs to provide comments on this proposed
reclamation plan. Les Dobson presented the plan as an agenda topic at our last regularly
scheduled meeting, which occurred on June 12, 2002, and asked that we send comments
to you to use in your response to the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology. Since
Les Dobson is on our Committee, representing the Forest Service, and since the
reclamation plan was sent to you for approval, we thought it best to send our wmments
to you. Attached aze comments from the TAC for your consideration. I am also sending a
copy to the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology.
Sincerely,
Zeke Ward, Chairman
Willo~ ecla~Committe
Cc: w/attachments: Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology
Mike Wireman, US EPA
