Long,
Division Drtector
RE: San Luis Project (Permit M-88-112) Proposed TR Covering QA/QC Protocol
I have only a few comments regarding the above since the TR deals mainly with
chemical sampling procedures, but I do offer the following:
1. Consideration should be given to adding samples of the leak
detection system to the bi-weekly sampling program. This was
previously done on a monthly basis, but with the increase in
cyanide levels in the pond, a higher sampling frequency stems
reasonable.
2. Well M-2 is listed for both bi-weekly and quarterly sampling. It
should be removed from the quarterly list.
3. As a reasonable extra precaution to increase the accuracy of sample
results and eliminate any possible effects of contamination by
equipment, the sampling sequence should be from those monitoring
points historically having lower values of cyanide to those having
higher levels.
/yjb
8F
