III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII <br />999 <br />NOXIOUS WEED CONTROL PLAN <br />LONGMONT DISTEL OPERATIONS <br />In order to control the invasion and spread of noxious weeds, a comprehensive weed <br />management plan will be employed at the Longmont Distell Operations, including <br />preventative, chemical and mechanical controls. This plan addresses the action to be <br />taken by Aggregate Industries personnel, as needed, to control and prevent the infestation <br />of thE~ following noxious weeds identified on the subject property and/or recognized by <br />Weld County: <br />Canada Thistle <br />Musk Thistle <br />Leafy Spurge <br />Field Bindweed <br />Russian Knapweed <br />DitFuse Knapweed <br />Scotch Thistle <br />Spotted Knapweed <br />Dalm;ation Toadflax <br />CUR1tENT WEED MITIGATION <br />1. Site was mowed September 1 1, 2000. <br />FUTURE WEED MITIGATION <br />1. In consultation with qualified vegetation managers and/or county weed <br />coordinators, the site will be assessed in the spring to determine best management <br />practices for week control. <br />2. A combination of timed mowings and herbicide treatments will be utilized to <br />control weeds. <br />a. The site will be mowed as necessary throughout the yeaz in order to <br />establish new grass and to control weeds. <br />b. An aggressive mowing program will be employed the first year following <br />revegetation of an azea, withholding herbicide use until the following year <br />and to avoid damaging the new seedlings. <br />c. Appropriate herbicides will be applied to establish vegetative azeas in <br />accordance with recommendations provided by qualified vegetation <br />managers andlor county weed control coordinators. <br />3. The site will be evaluated in late summer or fall to determine if any additional <br />treatment is requred and to determine if additional grass-seeding is required. <br />
