Divisionotn~i~era~s&Caeoiogy
Re: Response to the State Engineer's response dated March 19,
1996 regarding out application for mining permit amendment.
Dear Ms. Sullivan:
Please be advised that Zigan Sand and Gravel has done extensive
mining of its Snowstorm Pacer Mine since 1983. In that time
neither Zigan or M&M Mining, Zigan's successor for 6 years,
has encountered ground water during their operations. A domestic
well was drilled on the property in 1983 and no water was
encountered above bedrock. We are mining on a terminal moraine
much higher than the river system nearly 1/2 mile away, therefore
we do not expect to expose any ground water.
Thank you for your response. Please call me if you have any
questions at 303-654-0200.
S i nce r~e[~lgy~,c~,,
~V V
Ted Zigan
cc: Greg Squire, Division of Minerals and Geology
10800 East 124th Avenue • Brighton, CO 80601 • 303/654-0200
