Notice of Proposed Decision
Tfie Colorado Division of Minerals aad
Geology (CDMG) has issued a proposed
decision to approve Bond Release Applies- '~
Lion No. 2 (SL-2) for the Meeker Area -
Mines, Permit No. C-81-032. The mine is
operated by Enron Coal Company under ~
the provisions of the Colorado Surface
Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. The
bond release application was submitted by
Enron Coal Company on May 8, 1997. The
bond amount requested for release is
$184,071.00, and this completes the re-
lease of an original $850,000.00 bond for
reclamation work at the mine site's. The
proposed release recognizes that all recla-
oration work has been successfully eceom-
plished at the mine sites (51.4 acres of
surface disturbance), releases the Enron
Coal Company for liability on any addi-
tional reclamation work, and terminates
• CDMG jurisdiction over the entire permit
area (4,722.4 acres). CDMG permit C-81-
~032 will be terminated. The affected,area
ie located in Rio BVaneo County, approxi-.
metely 5 miles northeast of Meeker.

able for review at the Colorado Division, of
Minerals 'end Geology office, 1313
Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Coio=
rado 80203, and at the office of the Rio
Blanco County Clerk end Recorder.
Any person who has sn interest which is
or may be adversely affected may request
an adjudjcatory hearing regarding:~thia .,
propoaed~decieion. Requests for a hearing'
must be made to the Division in writing
within thirty (30) days of the first publica-
tion of this notice, end shall state with rea-
sonslile specificity the reasons for the re-
quest and objections to the proposed deci-
