Box 39
103 3rd Ave.
Huago, CO 80821
RE: Ravenkamp Pit No. I (Permit M-1991-060) One remaining adequacy issue regarding conversion application
Dear Mr. Aragon:
The Division has received and reviewed the County's June 16, 2000 response [o the Division's 2nd review of the
County's adequacy responses regarding the Ravenkamp Pit conversion application and has the remaining concern:
~~
DIVISION OF
MINERALS
GEOLOGY
R E C L A M A T I O N
MINING•SAFETY
BIII Owens
Governor
Gres; E. walchv
Execu~ive Dhcaor
b6chael B. Lonx
DiYisiOn Director
NOTICES: I regret that [his remains an issue, and that I was not clearer in the last review in regard to what
was required to address it. Although the Division tends to believe chat Mr. Lyle Ravenkamp, the landowner for the
property being mined, was personally served with notice of the conversion application by Chris Monks, the
evidence provided in your response of that service is not consistent with the evidence normally required for notices
of the application. It is necessary, as for all other notices, that the addressee, in this case Mr. Ravenkamp or his
representative, personally acknowledge receipt of the notice.
Please provide evidence of the receipt of the notice by Mr. Ravenkamp.
NOTE: No objections to the conversion application have been received by this Office. As a result the
decision date for the application is July 25, 2000. With the exception of the adequacy issue ident~ed above,
the County has me[ the minimum requirements for approval of the application. Please address the
remaining adequacy issue prior to July 25, 2000 in order that the Division may consider approval of the
application at that time. If you cannot do so, please provide a written waiver of your right to a decision at
that time in order to avoid a denial and to allow the permitting process to continue.
If you have any questions on the above, please contact me.
Sincerely,
~la,,~, CS~+~~
James C.
